The morning after...

So Canada day was a smashing success. We had a lot of visitors, and we managed to eat our way through 120 hot dogs in record time. We decided to ignore the swarms of mosquitoes, and just focus on having a good time and listening to some great tales of bootleg mining operations from our guests Ralph and Herbie. One of the biggest hits of the day was game of ladder golf. For those of you who do not know what it is, click here. The washer tournament winner of last year, Russell Phalen, was dethroned by us in the gift shop. Let's just say, he isn't in the greatest mood today.

Canada Day Eve

Tomorrow is our big day. It is probably one of our favourite days here at the mine, it keeps us very busy. We have tours coming in and out, face painting, and on top all of this we have to mediate some of the washer-toss tournaments. They are known to become a little competitive at times. Also, someone has to be the designated hot dog cooker. Here are some pictures from last year's event to give people an idea of what to expect if you show up for Canada's 142nd birthday.

Canada Day is soon approaching...

We have big plans for Canada Day here at the mine. I don't want to give away too many details, but let me just say there might be a free barbecue involved. And, I don't know, maybe some Canada day trivia where you can win a free tour of the Syndicate Coal Mine. Fine, I'll tell you the rest of our plans. we have washer-toss tournaments and face-painting too. The surprise is out...
